Care
Dust with a dry soft cloth. Re-oil twice yearly with natural furniture wax. Avoid direct sun and placement beneath AC outlets — dry air opens the grain. Brass will darken naturally; polish sparingly if you prefer it bright.

The story
The teak in this console outlived the building it came from. Air-dried for four decades in a haveli near Nagaur, it was salvaged when the roof went, then sat in Devraj Suthar's yard for two more years before he decided what it wanted to be. The carving along the apron is a single continuous line — it cannot be paused and restarted without showing. It took nine days. Nothing here is screwed together: the joints are cut to hold under their own tension.
