The object
The story
This panel spent roughly 140 years as the upper facade of a tharavad house near Thrissur. The carving depicts a lotus scroll typical of the region's temple carpenters, who moonlighted on domestic commissions. It was removed intact during a documented dismantling in 2019 and has been cleaned, never refinished.
